Packing & Travel
What to Bring
Two of the biggest concerns for any college student are what to bring and what not to bring. Please view the Pre-Arrival Guide for a complete list of recommendations and tips from past students.
Shipping Items to Campus
If you would like to ship items to campus prior to your arrival, you may do so by sending them to the address below. The following address format should be used for incoming mail or packages for students:
YOUR NAME, CC Box #
Colorado College
819 N. Tejon Street
Colorado Springs, CO 80946
USA
Don't know your CC box number?
- Log on to Banner at coloradocollege.edu/ssb.
- Click on "Student"
- Click on "Addresses"
- Your CC Box # will be listed under "Addresses and Phones"
Do not use your student housing address. This will slow the processing and delivery of mail and packages. Delivery drivers are not allowed in secure buildings. For more information about mail services, please visit their webpage at https://www.coloradocollege.edu/offices/mail/student-information/index.html
Entering the United States and Going through Customs
When you arrive in the U.S. you will first have to pass through Immigration and Customs at your port of entry. Carry the following documents with you on the plane (Do NOT pack in your checked luggage):
- Passport with your F-1/J-1 visa
- Form I-20/Form DS-2019
- SEVIS fee receipt notice
- Evidence of financial resources
- Evidence of student status (letter of admission)
Inform the immigration officer at the port of entry that you will be a student in the United States to ensure that you are admitted with student status.
Arrival Options - Getting to Colorado Springs
Please plan to arrive to Colorado Springs on:
International Students Arrival Date: Thursday, August 15, 2024
By Plane to Colorado Springs: If you will be flying to Colorado, we recommend that you fly directly into Colorado Springs (COS). Newly arriving international students will need to take a Taxi/Uber/Lyft to campus.
By Plane to Denver: If you will be arriving in Denver and cannot take a flight to Colorado Springs, you will need to take an airport shuttle to Colorado Springs.
- Groome Transportation offers direct shuttle service between Denver International airport (DIA) and Colorado Springs every day of the year. Reservations are recommended to ensure you have a seat. Check out www.groometransportation.com or call 1-719-687-3456 for details on arrival times and to book your reservation.
Please Note: Groome Transportation will drop you off directly at the CC campus in front of the Boettcher Health Center (building #23 on the campus map) if you call to make your reservation and indicate that you are a "prospective student." Otherwise, the closest drop off point to the campus is the Antlers Hotel. From the Antlers Hotel, you can request an Uber/Lyft/Taxi to get you to campus.
