Newman Civic Fellowship
The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports community-committed students who are changemakers and public problem-solvers at Campus Compact member institutions.
The CC community is invited to nominate students at the end of the first semester each year. Those students will then be invited to submit a personal statement. Materials will be reviewed by the Collaborative for Community Engagement prior to the selection of a candidate for institutional nomination the president.
Campus Compact provides fellows with training and resources that nurture their assets and passions and help them develop strategies for social change. The yearlong program, named for Campus Compact founder Frank Newman, includes virtual learning opportunities and networking as part of a national network of engaged student leaders and an optional in-person convening.
The Newman Civic Fellowship is a core component of Campus Compact’s strategy to build a national network of engaged student leaders who can support one another in building transformational partnerships between campuses and communities.
Deadline for nominations 2024-2025 is December 11th, 2023. Nominate a student here.
