Cultural Ambassador Fellowship
OE Cultural Ambassadors help make outdoor experiences at Colorado College more welcoming and accessible for students from different backgrounds. Ambassadors connect students with Outdoor Education opportunities, encourage participation, and help create an environment where students can explore the outdoors, build community, and feel a sense of belonging.
The mission of OE Cultural Ambassadors is to expand accessibility to outdoor recreation at Colorado College by empowering historically underrepresented students to engage in outdoor education with confidence and community.
Our purpose is to diversify the outdoors by bridging gaps in accessibility through affinity programming, community outreach, and relationship building to inspire marginalized communities to engage in outdoor adventure.

Allison Garcia
Bio: Hi! My name is Allison Garcia, and I’m from East Newark, New Jersey. I’m half Colombian and half Peruvian, and I’ve always had a strong love for music and art.
Growing up in the city, I spent most of my time creating art and playing soccer rather than being outdoors. That changed when I had the amazing opportunity to attend boarding school, where I discovered a whole new love for the outdoors. Since then, I’ve learned how to mountain bike, ski, and kayak! I love meeting new people, trying new things, and exploring my surroundings. I’m excited to share that sense of adventure and help others discover and connect with their environment too!

Mary-Kate Laibhen
Bio: Hi, my name is Mary-Kate Laibhen, and I’m a junior at Colorado College majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Physics. I was born and raised in Haiti, moved to the United States when I was nine, and now call Miami, Florida home. Coming to Colorado introduced me to outdoor experiences I did not have access to growing up and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. As a first-generation student, I understand that outdoor spaces can sometimes feel unfamiliar or intimidating. As an Outdoor Education Ambassador, I’m excited to help make these experiences more welcoming and accessible while encouraging students to try new things, build community, and find their own connection to the outdoors.

Quosiah Lawal
Bio: Hello! My name is Quosiah Lawal, and I’m originally from Lagos, Nigeria. I’m a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry and serve as a Cultural Ambassador for Outdoor Education. In my role, I hope to get more underrepresented communities involved in outdoor recreation while helping create spaces where everyone feels welcomed and represented in the outdoors. Some of my favorite activities are hiking and skiing, and one of my favorite places in Colorado Springs is Garden of the Gods. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to chat about getting outside!

Benji Rosenblum

Kim Osman
Bio: Hi, I'm Kim - a sophomore studying History-Political Science here at Colorado College. I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but I've travelled and lived in different parts of the world (that are less city-centered) like East Africa and Western Australia. I'm always down to be outside, whether that's hiking, backpacking, scuba diving, skiing - you name it. I really enjoy trying new things I haven't done before! I’m super stoked about making the outdoors more accessible to people who haven’t always had the same opportunities to experience it, especially students from underrepresented and underserved communities, and I also love meeting new people, so feel free to get in touch!
