Posting Opportunities

What should I know about posting opportunities?

Colorado College must maintain an equitable recruiting process for Colorado College students in order to stay in line with federal regulations as well as professional organization principles of practice. As such, all recruiting activity must be posted in Handshake and available for all eligible students.

The Colorado College Career Center does not accept or advertise positions from employers involved with the use, production, testing, or distribution of recreational or medical marijuana. The use of marijuana is illegal at the federal level, and Colorado College complies with federal law. In addition, the use of marijuana violates the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and continues to be banned on our campus.

Full-Time Jobs

Colorado College uses Handshake as our online recruiting and scheduling platform. Handshake will enable you to manage the application process for your opportunities. This includes features that allow you to manage qualification, deadline dates, and manner of receiving applications. Please note: we will have to approve all employers and opportunities before they are live for students.

Handshake also allows you to review resumes from qualified students and contact candidates directly to arrange interviews. We are happy to provide space on campus or arrange for virtual interviews. If you do not already have a Handshake account, please set up an Employer account. View our guide to getting started in Handshake, which will help walk you through the steps to post your opportunity.

Internships

Internships are a great way for you to identify your next full time employees. Students have an opportunity to work and contribute in a professional environment, while employers can often complete projects that have been on the back burner, provide supervision opportunities for mid-level staff members, or fill a current talent need.

We strongly encourage employers to provide paid internship opportunities. Often paid opportunities will receive a more competitive and diverse applicant pool of candidates ready to add value to your organization. While wages vary by state, industry, and opportunity, the typical internship wage range for Colorado College students is $15 - $25 per hour. If your organization is offering an unpaid opportunity, the opportunity must comply with the criteria put forth by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).

Internship opportunities are also posted in our Handshake system. If you do not already have a Handshake account, please set up an Employer account. View our guide to getting started in Handshake, which will help walk you through the steps to post your opportunity.
