About Musical Theatre
The students of the vocal program at Colorado College present two music theatre productions each year: one musical and one opera. The program is co-directed by principal vocal instructor Jennifer DeDominici and vocal instructor Ann Brink, with musical direction by pianist Dan Brink. Recent musicals have included The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Rocky Horror Show, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Elegies, Spring Awakening, How Green Was My Valley, The Light in the Piazza, and Little Women. Chamber opera works or opera pieces have included selections from Hansel and Gretel, La Divina and The Magic Flute, as well as Candide. The Vocal Studio strives to make these shows an all inclusive and rewarding experience, contributing to the strong network the department fosters among performers of all skill levels.
