Chamber Chorus Musical Offerings
A curated playlist of music for choir, presented weekly by the Colorado College Chamber Chorus.
Tune in each Friday for a new installment in our series of Musical Offerings:
I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity...to see the faces of people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race.
While there is no substitute for the in-person, human connections making music together provides to us as choral singers, we are seeking to share solace, encouragement, and a sense of community in these challenging times.
New members by audition only. Please contact Deborah Teske to audition.
Rehearsals: Chamber chorus meets weekly on Tuesday afternoons on the Packard Hall stage from 4:00-5:30pm. In addition, there is one extra rehearsal each block for sectional work, or for joint rehearsals with other ensembles when collaborative concerts are planned.
The Colorado College Chamber Chorus is a 16-24 voice select ensemble performing music from all historical time periods, and covering a wide range of styles, including Renaissance, baroque, classical, contemporary, music of world folk traditions, spirituals, and more. The chorus performs a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment, depending upon the demands of the repertoire.
The Chamber Chorus presents two concerts each year. Additional performance opportunities are available as scheduling allows, including trips to nearby cities to perform at notable venues or to collaborate with other groups, such as the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble (CVAE).
