The CC Chamber Orchestra has been a popular music staple on campus since its founding in 1989. The 40-member ensemble is co-directed by Lecturer in Music, Daniel Brink and Violin Instructor, Jerilyn Jorgensen, and rehearses on Tuesday evenings in Packard Performance Hall. The orchestra performs two concerts each year, once per semester.

Each spring semester, the department hosts a Concerto Competition for which current students are eligible to audition. The winner is featured as a soloist on the spring orchestra program. The orchestra also collaborates occasionally with the CC Chamber Chorus and with the College Choir. Smaller student chamber ensembles are also frequently featured on orchestra concerts. The ensemble performs works from the standard orchestral repertoire, from Bach to Britten, and each year American works figure prominently in the programming.

Sectional rehearsals are led by an outstanding faculty of performing artists. Students registering for Chamber Orchestra receive 1/4 credit per semester. The Chamber Orchestra provides students with an opportunity to continue their musical involvement, regardless of their chosen college path, provides an excellent break from the Block Plan, and offers a supportive community of fellow student music lovers.
