Holds and Recalls

A hold may be placed on an item that is already checked out by following the steps listed below:

  1. Find the item for hold in the Books and Media tab.
  2. Click button that says "Place Hold".
  3. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in to your library account. *Campus community will use Single sign on, Community Borrowers will use email address and library card number.
  4. You will be asked to confirm the hold. After you confirm, your hold has been placed.

You will receive an email notification when the item is ready.

Items are picked up at either the Tutt or Seay Library, the location will be noted when you place the hold.

This item will be held for you at the Circulation Desk at Tutt or Seay Library after the item is returned by the current borrower.

To place a recall for urgently needed items, please call or come to the Circulation Desk at Tutt or Seay Library.

Items recalled for reserve must be returned immediately. Other items are subject to recall if the current borrower has had it for more than two weeks.

If an item is recalled, it must be returned as soon as possible. Fines will accrue at $5.00 per day.

Recalled items must be picked up within 10 days of the date of the notice of availability. If they are not picked up within this time, they will be given to the next person on the waiting list or returned to the shelves.

Curbside Pickup

Tutt Library has instituted curbside pickup in the library parking lot for retired Faculty and Staff, Alumni, and Dependents. Here is how you may request curbside pickup:

  1. Follow the usual instructions to request a book (see above).
  2. Wait until you receive an email notice (includes InterLibrary Loan notices) that your book or books are ready to pick up. Please don't schedule a curbside pickup time before you have been notified your book is ready.
  3. Once your book is ready to pick up, log in to the library catalog. You can also log in from the library home page under Log in -> My Library Account.
  4. At the left of your account page, click the tab titled "your curbside pickups."
  5. On the "Curbside pickups" page, click "schedule a pickup."
  6. Choose Tutt Library as your pickup library.
  7. Click in the "pickup date" field to first choose a date, then a time. We have limited pickup times; if those prove insufficient and we have available staff, the library will add additional times.
  8. Once you click "schedule pickup" you will see that it has been scheduled. You may cancel it if you need to reschedule.
  9. You will also receive an email reminder of your appointment date and time.
  10. During your pickup time window, come to the south edge of the C1 parking lot, just north of the library. Please wear a mask. Please don't go elsewhere on campus if you aren't authorized.
  11. Call the Circulation Desk at 719-389-6184 to let us know you are here (this number will also be in your email reminder). We will come out with your books shortly, which are already checked out to you.
