The Music Department offers private lessons by professional performers in voice and all instruments of the Western orchestra. Additionally, some world musics can be studied privately, including Balinese gamelan and Irish fiddle. Group instruction in guitar, piano and voice are available for a discounted fee. Lessons and ensemble participation are available to all Colorado College students as adjunct courses, taken for an entire semester. Fees are $425 for private lessons and $85 for group lessons.

Open registration is available until the end of the second week of Blocks 1 and 5. Late registration with instructor approval available until the end of Blocks 1 and 5, after which no registrations will be accepted. Click here to see a list of available lessons
Private Lessons: $425 per semester, charged to student's account. Includes 12 private lessons at 40 minutes each over the course of a semester. A .25 adjunct music credit is awarded upon successful completion.
Guitar Class, Piano Class, Voice Class: $85 per semester, charged to the student's account. Includes 12 group lessons at 40 minutes each over the course of a semester. A .25 adjunct music credit is awarded upon successful completion.
Practice Rooms: Students enrolled in lessons or an ensemble may request, upon registration for lessons/ensemble, to have their Gold Card activated to allow access to our practice rooms for that semester. Colorado College students not otherwise participating in the department may "rent" Gold Card access to practice rooms for $100 per semester.
Locker Key: $25 deposit charged to the student's account and credited back when the key is returned to the music department at the end of each semester. Lost key charge is $100. Students must be enrolled in lessons or an ensemble to check out a locker.
Instrument Rental: $100 rental fee per semester, charged to student's account. Speak with the music department paraprof to check availability of instruments and to rent instruments. To check out an instrument, student must be enrolled in lessons or an ensemble that uses that instrument. Students renting an instrument for an ensemble do not need to pay the rental fee.
