The Brotherhood of Skiing
The first Black Ski Summit took place in 1973. A year later the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) was founded and would grow Into a major organization driving diversity.

Afterglow
A classic ski film well-known In the ski community. Certainly, a must-see for all-mountain adventurers!

Being Zeb Powell
A native of Waynesville, N.C., Zeb Powell initially hated snowboarding. He Is now a star of the freestyle snowboarding community.

Roku: The Faction Collective
Dance around the freestyle park with Markus Fohr and fellow collective super starts Alex Hall and Antti Ollila.

We are Brothers, Skateboarders, Americans, and Muslims
They are engineers (Ayman works for NASA), avid skateboarders, and devout Muslims—a combination of traits that the brothers say tends to confuse strangers.

Tailwhip
The 14-year-old BMX rider Erik Aguilar is on track to reaching professional status in just a couple of years.

Pedal Through
Follows director-lead Analise Cleopatra as she discovers the joy of bikepacking and the healing power of a backcountry bike trip.

Brothers of Climbing
Someone said, ‘black people don’t climb'. The Brothers of Climbing is a group of climbers that began to challenge that thought.

Dead Last
Having been born without the lower part of her left arm, 26-year-old Kaitlin Heatherly had never considered she would be a world champion rock climber.

Textured Waves
Women of All Shades Riding the Waves. The ocean has different textures and currents, its occupants reflect this diversity and should be aptly represented. 

Eighth Wonder
If God made sockeye, he made Bristol Bay for them to live. The Eighth Wonder presents the life of Erica Madison, the only female among a group of hooligan fishing men.

After-Session Conversation with Producers and Stars of Pedal Through Film
The "Pedal Through" cast and crew discuss the film and share their perspectives on gender and racial representation in film and action sports.

In-Person Winter Olympics

2.pngThis event will feature a variety of fun team and individual challenges, each having a unique spin on the equipment and skills used in winter outdoor activities... all socially distanced of course!

Will your team master the snowshoe relay or be the slowest on the fat bike slow race? Who will earn the most points in the "Goggle Waddle", perfect their technique in Ice Rink Bowling, or demonstrate tactile prowess in our winter glove challenges? These are just a few of the many fun and silly activities you could participate in at the Winter Olympics.

Sign Up Your Team Today on Summit! Registration closes by the end of the day, March 10th 

How To Participate:

  • Connect with friends to form a team (up to 4 people per team)
  • Elect a Team Captain to register your team.
  • In the registration, the team captain will select the other teammates, who will be prompted to complete participation waivers once the registration is submitted.
Note: if your team is made up of less than 4 people, we may combine you with another smaller team.

The Rest of March

Snow Day Participant Short Film Edit Competitions
Anyone is invited to share a 2-3 minute video from an outdoor adventure. Winners will be chosen based on the quality of the video as a whole – as such, have fun, be creative, and most importantly get outside!

For inspiration and tips take a look at the video below and draw inspiration from all the films we saw during the film festival!

The last day to submit is March 29th, 11:59 pm MST. Winners will be chosen on April 1st.

Please submit your film by attaching, sending a Vimeo link or an outlook drive link to your film in an email to s_moreirainfante@coloradocollege.edu AND rabler@coloradocollege.edu
