Earth Week

Welcome to Earth Week 2024!

Our office, along with many other campus and community partners are excited to bring a full week of events and programming to the community. CC's celebrations for Earth Week will start Monday, April 22 (Earth Day), and run till Friday, April 26. We invite the community to engage in a week of learning, consciousness, and celebration!

Kick off Earth Week with the Office of Sustainability and Residential Experience on your way to class. Stop by to learn more about all events happening during the week. We'll be handing out special edition Earth Week stickers for the first 100 folks who drop by.

Modern Farming Initiative Information Session

Hosted By: The Modern Farming Initiative

We want to hear your ideas! The Modern Farming Initiative is a new student-run research-focused initiative with the aim of creating and implementing, in an equitable fashion, environmentally friendly agricultural innovations. Come meet with us and let’s talk about where you fit into the initiative. We welcome all majors, and love to talk to you!


Linnemann Lecture 

Hosted By: Environmental Studies Program

Location: Richard F. Celeste Theatre

Timothy Linnemann, a Biology major at Colorado College and active member of the EnAct student group, tragically passed away in a car accident during a camping trip in southern Nevada in 1990. In his memory, his friends established a memorial garden on campus, and his family established the Timothy C. Linnemann Memorial Lecture on the Environment, held annually during Earth Week, accompanied by a dinner bringing together students and faculty involved in environmental activities at the college.

Join us for this year's lecture by former Sierra Club President Ramón Cruz on The Movement for Climate Justice: Recent Successes, Threats and Urgency. 

Arbor Day

Hosted By: Facilities Services

Get ready to reconnect with nature during Earth Week as Facilities Services and the Tree Advisory Committee invite you to join in planting trees and plants on campus. Enjoy lunch with us as a token of appreciation for your efforts, and snag an annual Arbor Day T-shirt - this year designed by CC student Sydney Vine '24 (available while supplies last). Let's come together to enjoy a day of outdoor community engagement.

Pride Outside

Hosted By: Outdoor Education, Arts & Crafts, and Bemis School of Arts

Pride Outside is CC’s annual outdoor pride event with a focus on the queer community, allyship, and representation in the outdoors. This celebration will include live music, crafts, yard games, giveaways, and information tables on a variety of queer & non-binary outdoor organizations.

End CC's Earth Week with the CC Student Farm Club and Sunrise Movement at the CC Farm for a fun Earth Day celebration! There will be food, music, activities, and good company.
