Econonmics & Business Department Thesis Guidelines provides the up to date department thesis requirements, together with an updated version of tables and margins to get you started formatting your document. Examples of each section are illustrated in the document.

The thesis process follows APA style guidelines. Tutorials are also available through a Google search.

Data Resources


Data Collection

In certain classes and especially during thesis, students will be required to gather and analyze data. Here are some helpful links that will allow for a smoother data collection experience.

  • IPUMS USA (The Integrated Public Use Microdata Series) collects, preserves and harmonizes U.S. census microdata and provides easy access to this data with enhanced documentation. Data includes decennial censuses from 1790 to 2010 and American Community Surveys (ACS) from 2000 to the present.
