Move Out
Move-Out Information
Your housing agreement runs through the full academic year, ending in May 2026. First-years, sophomores, and juniors must depart by 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, while graduating seniors must move out by 12:00 PM on Monday, May 18. Early departures are allowed if your course schedule permits.
Plan ahead and connect with your RA or RLC to ensure a smooth move-out. Students who do not complete the check-out process by the deadlines will be charged a $150 improper check-out fee plus the daily rate for each additional day. Timely move-out is essential so our facilities, custodial, and operations teams can prepare spaces for summer use.
Spring Move Out - Departure Process
Option 1: Check-Out with RA
This is the preferred method, however, if there are no RAs available or it is outside of the staffed time frames, express check out can be completed.
- Schedule a check-out time with an RA via the housing portal
- RAs will be available to conduct check-outs on:
- Wednesday, May 13 from 12:00 PM (noon) - 8:00 PM
- Thursday, May 14 from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Noon)
- RAs will be available to conduct check-outs on:
- Meet the RA at your front desk at your selected appointment time
- An RA will accompany you to your reserved space to complete the room inventory form, verify that all belongings have been removed and do a visual check with the resident present.
- The RA will open all drawers, closets and safes with the resident present.
- If there are any damages found during inspections, this will be communicated via email at a later time.
- After the room check has been completed, the RA and resident will return to the front desk to turn in the key.
Option 2: Express Check-Out
This is the back-up option for residents who cannot leave during the allotted time or wish to forgo the initial RA room inspection.
If a resident choose this option, you opt out of an appeal on charges.
- Residents will request an Express Check-Out envelope from either their RLC or Front Desk in advance of closing.
- There will be envelopes available throughout the closing period.
- Residents will empty all belongings from their room and place key(s) in the express check-out envelope.
- Residents must fill out all applicable items on the express check-out envelope
- Once completed, residents will place envelope with key(s) in the express check-out box located at the front desk, Bemis Hall, or Hybl Community Center.

Ditch the Dumpster
Ditch the Dumpster @ Move Out and Donate Instead!
We are partnered with the Office of Sustainability for Ditch the Dumpster @ Move Out and Donate Instead!
The objective of this program is to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and support local communities through our donations. Each year as CC students move off campus, they realize they have accumulated more 'stuff' than they need or can transport back with them. Many of these items end up in landfill when they could have been recycled, composted, or donated!

- Delivery - Your belongings will be delivered to your new room on campus the week before classes start or we’ll deliver off campus on your preferred date.
- Shipping - We can ship boxes home for the summer, or to your first apartment a few months after graduation (optional).
Any companies used
If residents chose to go through a moving company, they will be required to be present and accompany the company at all times during their move-out process. At no time will Colorado College permit entry into a space without the resident of reserved room present.
