Safe Ride

Safe Ride is a student-run program and is available to all campus community members free of charge. Colorado College community members may call the Safe Ride Service and receive an escort up to 1.5 miles away to and from campus.

Safe Ride personnel are trained on personal safety and personal accountability. The Safe Ride vehicles maintain radio communication with the Campus Safety office, allowing them to access to emergency response services if needed. They also report any physical problems that may exist in our campus contributing to safety or Campus Safety problems (i.e. untrimmed hedges, lights that are out or misplaced, broken windows, propped open doors, etc.) to the attention of Campus Campus Safety. Provide the Service with your name, current location, where you wish to go and a contact number. Please remain in the building lobby or your car until the arrival of the Safe Ride vehicle.

Campus Safety Transports

During all other times, Campus Safety Officers can transport campus community members up to 1.5 miles to and from campus.  Exceptions would be personal safety related transports, and urgent or emergent medical transports to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room.  Campus Safety cannot transport to medical appointments beyond 1.5 miles.

Campus Safety Dispatch monitors cameras, multiple emergency notification systems, alarms, multiple radios, fields emergency and non-emergency calls continuously and simultaneously.  Please be patient if you call for a transport.  Campus Safety will make every effort to provide timely transports, but transports can take longer than anticipated due to other calls or responses on or around campus.
