Orchestra Collections
Seay Library of Music and Art maintains two collections of orchestral music which are available to borrow under specific circumstances.
Symphony Library
In 2003 the Colorado Springs Symphony Guild, desiring to further promote the musical arts in Colorado Springs and the liberal arts mission of Colorado College, donated the materials comprising the Symphony Library collection to the college. Housed in Creekside, the library’s off-site storage facility, this collection of over 800 orchestral scores and parts is available for use by orchestral groups residing in El Paso County. The following guidelines pertain to its use:
- The college has the primary right to use the Symphony Library collection for its educational purposes. However, whenever reasonably feasible, the college shall make the Symphony Library collection available upon request to other established symphonic organizations based in El Paso County.
- The college will not charge for the use of materials from the Symphony Library collection by other Colorado Springs orchestral music users except to the extent necessary to cover reasonable processing and administrative expenses associated with maintaining the collection.
