New & Returning Students

Use these helpful lists and tips to help guide you in what to bring during move-in and what should be left at home.

This list includes tips for students living in Traditional Residential Halls, Small Houses, Language Houses, Apartments and Cottages – so whether you are a new or returning students, these lists and tips are for you!

And remember, less is more! Talk with your roommate ahead of time about larger items you can share like a TV or any other non-essential appliances.

What To Bring

This list is a general list for all students to keep in mind when packing but more specifically for students assigned to rooms in Traditional Residential Halls, Small Houses and Language Houses.

Apartments

  • Apartments on campus are furnished. You do not need to bring any additional furniture, but are welcome to if that helps make your apartment feel like home.
  • Microwave
  • Kitchen Supplies (plates, mugs, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, etc)
  • Open Heating Coil Appliances like Toasters, Waffle Irons, George Foreman Grills, Hot Plates, Pressure Cookers, etc. are allowed in Apartments
  • Shower Curtain & Rod
  • Bathroom Cleaning Supplies
  • Toilet Paper
  • Bathmat
  • Rugs and/or Carpets
  • TV (with Smart TV device if needed, ex. Roku)

Cottages

  • Cottages are unfurnished. Please bring all furniture needed to for your space, including a bed, dresser, couch, coffee table, desks, etc.
