Dining Accommodations

As a residential college, Colorado College strongly believes that life in our residence halls is a central part of the holistic learning experience that characterizes a liberal arts education. Generally, all students live on campus for the first three years of their enrollment at CC. A significant part of the residential experience includes being on a meal plan and eating in Bon Appetit's cafes and restaurants. Please refer to the Cafe Bon Appetit website for a full description of the dining options at CC.

The Accessibility Resources staff is available to meet with students to talk about specific requests for disability-related dining accommodations (e.g., avoiding specific foods, working with Bon Appetit to request specific foods). We carefully consider each request for accommodation on a case-by-case basis. Final accommodation decisions are made by a review team that includes staff from Accessibility Resources, Housing & Residential Experience, Bon Appetit, and the Chaplain's Office.

Students who are requesting dining accommodations for disability-related reasons should follow the steps below.

  • Complete the Accessibility Resources "Request for Accommodations and Services" form, if this form has not been submitted previously.
  • Contact Accessibility Resources to discuss requested accommodations.
  • Complete the "Dining Accommodation Request Form." Students can obtain this form from Accessibility Resources.
  • Submit documentation of disability. Students should contact Accessibility Resources for guidance on the documentation needed for their individual situations. General information can be found on the Documentation Guidelines webpage.
  • Please allow three weeks after submission for Accessibility Resources and the review team to process requests. Students will be notified of decisions via their CC email address.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Students who have received dining accommodations in the past must submit a request each academic year to be reconsidered.
  • Please note that dietary preferences rarely rise to the level of disability.
  • Students may be asked to work with the college's food service provider, Bon Appetit, to determine if arrangements can be made to meet dietary needs.
For additional information on dining accommodations or other accommodations and services for students with disabilities, please contact Accessibility Resources.
