Submissions

Call for Submissions:  

Last year the history department revamped our departmental newsletter “The HY411.” We are interested in featuring student work, accomplishments, and perspectives in our newsletter. We want to highlight all the exciting things you’re studying and doing at CC!  

While we accept submissions of any length, we are particularly interested in pieces under 1000 words (or roughly two pages). We’re interested in work that pertains to a variety of topics including coursework, individual research on historical topics, scholarly critiques and book reviews, departmental events and news, college and local history, and pop culture and current events in relation to history. Submissions can be written in a personal or academic tone. Submissions can include short essays and articles, book reviews, photos, or other written work and multimedia projects.  

Please send submissions to Thecla Shubert at tshubert@coloradocollege.edu by November 25th, 2022 (fall/winter deadline) or April 21st, 2023 (spring/summer deadline). Feel free to reach out with additional questions or concerns.
