All financial and administrative policies involving community members across campus are within the scope of this policy. If there is variance between departmental expectations and the common approach described through college policy, the college will look to the campus community to support the spirit and the objectives of college policy.


Colorado College will provide a reasonable amount of break time to express milk as frequently as needed by nursing mothers for up to two years after the child’s birth.

Full-time staff will receive their regular pay while nursing or expressing breast milk during the two 15-minute breaks provided.  Nursing or expressing breast milk during lunch breaks or more than twice each day will not be compensated.

The location provided by the college will be shielded from view and free from intrusion from co-workers and the public, and employees will not be required to use a bathroom for such purpose.  The Children’s Center will dedicate a space for the nursing mother’s use, even if the child is not enrolled; however, other space(s) may be temporarily adapted as needed if the Children’s Center is not convenient.  Please contact Human Resources to request accommodation under this policy.
