Colorado College physics professor Christopher Monahan and an international team of researchers have developed a new framework for comparing nuclear theory with experimental data, providing scientists with a more precise way of understanding the fundamental building blocks of matter.

Mathematics & Computer Science Department Run Summer Research Experience

This summer, undergraduate researchers from across the Rocky Mountain region spent eight weeks using mathematics and computer science to tackle a complex real-world challenge: how to make voting districts fairer. Through Colorado College's Mathematical and Computational Undergraduate Research Experience (MCURE), students combined intensive coursework, collaborative research, and professional development while exploring questions of representation, gerrymandering, and fairness in redistricting.
