Through Excel at CC, we offer 30+ live training sessions per year to support employee development and engagement. 10/21: The Legacy of Language and the ADA

Facilitated by Sara Rotunno and Natalie Garro from Accessibility Resources.

This interactive session explores how disability language has evolved in the 35 years since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Together, we will reflect on the ADA’s influence on language, examine the power of words in shaping perceptions and policies, and engage in continued conversations around language and disability protections as a civil right. Participants who attended the previous Language Matters Excel at CC Session are especially encouraged to join, but all attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how language both reflects and advances disability rights, equity, and inclusion.

11/6: Microsoft Excel Tips for Large Data Sets

Facilitated by Ali LaForce from Human Resources and Chad Schonewill from Information Technology.

This session will demonstrate Microsoft Excel tools designed to help manage large data sets, such as budgets. Participants will have hands-on practice with demo spreadsheets and an open lab following the demonstrations where they can have assistance as they test the tools.

11/11: Disability and Accessibility in the Workplace

Facilitated by Debi O'Connor from Human Resources and Sara Rotunno from Accessibility Resources.

In celebration of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month and the 35th Anniversary of the Signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, we invite you to join us for an interactive “scavenger hunt” on disability and accessibility in the workplace. This session will explore disability, accessibility, and resources for employees at Colorado College. Participants will engage with one another in a friendly competition to explore campus processes, office dynamics, staff support and more! Disability and access are essential elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion—let’s engage in this important conversation!
