South Hall

Please be advised that the South Hall elevator will remain out of service due to damage caused by a water leak earlier this year on the 4th floor. The repair work, which will be performed by TKE, includes a full modernization of the elevator system, replacement of damaged components, and updates to meet current code standards.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this essential maintenance.

Bemis Great Hall

There is construction work in Bemis Great Hall, scheduled to take place from August 4 through September 5.

 What to Expect During the Work:

  • Removal and replacement of carpet and heating
  • Loud noise and increased contractor activity
  • Blocked access on both the North and South sides of the building
  • No access from the Bemis Kitchen, Exile rooms, or the 2nd floor balcony 

Important Access Info:
During this period, access will be restricted to authorized personnel only, as identified by EHS. If access is required during the shutdown, it must be coordinated in advance with EHS.

 We’re sharing this information early so you can plan ahead. A formal reminder and more details will follow closer to the start of the work.

Ticknor Hall

Due to flooding, the basement and first floor of Ticknor Hall sustained significant damage. Ameri-Dri is currently onsite providing clean-up and remediation, and our Environmental Health & Safety team is working as quickly as possible. Drying equipment is scheduled to be removed from the basement (Bon App) on September 8 and is projected to be removed from the first floor on September 12. Once drying equipment has been removed, crews will begin put back work in the affected areas.We will continue to provide updates as the situation progresses.

Please avoid the affected area and give the crews space to complete their work safely.

Fine Arts Center

UPDATE: The women’s restroom in the 1st Floor Lobby of the Fine Arts Center is now open and fully operational.

 AmeriDri crews are continuing remediation in the basement Theater area, where water seeped in during the incident.

 Jimenez Drywall is scheduled to begin restoration work following the completion of remediation.

 We will continue to provide updates if further interruptions occur. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as restoration work continues.
