As Elder in Residence, my role is to provide mentorship to the diverse students at Colorado College, in addition to offering cultural, social, and spiritual support guided by Indigenous traditions to the campus community. This incorporates offerings of traditional teachings, practices, perspectives, resources, cultural awareness displays, programs, and 1:1 or group meetings.
Every block (1-8) , programs include:
· Smudge Circle, to promote balance and cleanse negativity,
· Talking Circle, which fosters connections, builds community, and supports healing through open and respectful dialogue, and
· Indigenous Art opportunities through authentic storytelling, sharing ancestral knowledge, cultural arts using traditional and contemporary techniques, and encouraging understanding by breaking down barriers and stereotypes.
As an inclusive community, these programs are open to everyone. Your visits, inquiries, communication, and connections are welcome. I look forward to meeting you!
