    Participate in Robson Arena Planning Process

    Dear Campus Community,

    I want to express my excitement for the vision that has been established for the future Robson Arena and the many opportunities this facility will bring to the college and the greater Colorado Springs community. 
     
    A key component of the design and planning process includes engaging the campus community, surrounding neighborhoods, and the broader community in meaningful dialogue about the project. 
     
    Robson Arena Campus Committee will work with the college administration, the Board of Trustees and JLG Architects on the design and programming of the arena and its multi-purpose use. The committee will support engagement efforts and communication with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members.
     
    To assist us in the planning and design process, we have engaged a multi-disciplinary team of architects, planners, civil and traffic engineers, public engagement facilitators, and landscape architects. The public process will assure the team receives input and feedback on topics such as traffic, parking, the fan experience, building specifics, season ticket program, and other important aspects of the arena’s implementation. To assure maximum opportunity for participation, community meetings and workshops will take place on Saturdays at the Cornerstone Arts Center.
     
    Tentative public engagement schedule:
    Initial community meeting: 10:30 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Jan. 5
    Workshop #1: late January, date/time yet to be determined
    Community meeting #2: mid-February, date/time yet to be determined
    Workshop #2: late February, date/time yet to be determined
    Community meeting #3: mid-March, date/time yet to be determined

    Following the public engagement process, construction of Robson Arena is expected to begin in 2019 with a projected opening date in 2021, pending approval from the city. You’ll notice pre-construction activities beginning in early 2019 with utility relocations, demolition of existing buildings, and other activities necessary to prepare the site for construction.
