CC faculty, staff, alumni, and students are making impactful contributions, advancing our strategic initiatives, and putting our ideas into action. Here are three highlights:

In order to provide faculty members more time to devote to scholarly research, six development blocks will be awarded for the 2015-16 academic year. Early in the fall, the college allocated $50,000 to support faculty in applying for external grants. The college is enhancing resources and flexibility to support faculty scholarship across disciplines.

"Taking this course is just my first step to what I want to do for the rest of my life," said Qiu Wu of her experience in a 2015 Dynamic Half Block for-credit course. This year, there were 594 participants in the Half Block. In addition, 24 alumni returned to serve as panelists.

Thirty parents, alumni, and friends immersed themselves in the unique CC experience for 12 days during a Special Block Break trip. "To take that essence that we so enjoy in a classroom and extend the CC experience out to family and friends and our alumni brings a great reward," said Christine Siddoway, geology professor, who provided lectures throughout the voyage to Antarctica.
