Ken Ralph Leaving for U. of Maine

Dear Campus Community,

It is with both excitement and sadness that I announce that Director of Athletics Ken Ralph has been appointed director of athletics for the University of Maine. Ken will transition to his new role in September.

Ken is an energetic and effective leader, and his contributions to Colorado College have been far-reaching. As director of athletics at CC for 11 years, he was instrumental in expanding and renovating the El Pomar Sports Center; the founding of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference; achieving record-setting athletics fundraising and sponsorships; moving the women's soccer team into the Mountain West Conference; and much more. Under his leadership, the Battle on Blake hockey game against University of Denver drew a crowd in excess of 35,000, and the CC women's soccer team played as Team USA for the World University Games in Gwanju, South Korea.

We will miss Ken at CC, but also are thrilled about this exciting opportunity for him. At University of Maine, which has approximately 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students, he will oversee an all-Division I program with 17 sports and 550 varsity athletes.

Senior Associate Director of Athletics Greg Capell will serve in the interim as we search for a new athletics director.

Please join me in congratulating Ken.

With warm regards,
Jill
