Sacred Grounds
The lower level of Shove Chapel houses Sacred Grounds, a cozy student-centered space which hosts spiritual life communities at CC, Sacred Grounds Tea House, and numerous student groups.
Sacred Grounds Tea House is a student-led late-night gathering space that creates a warm, welcoming environment for the CC community from 9pm-12pm Wednesday-Saturday. Open mic nights performances, poetry readings, knitting circles, and creative social gatherings appeal to the CC community. Sacred Grounds is a sub-free venue and a student study space.
Reserving Sacred Grounds
Sacred Grounds is one of the most popular gathering spaces on the Colorado College campus and receives consistent requests for reservations. It is a homey, vibrant space of community belonging. With an AV system and kitchen available for use, it is a wonderful space for many types of events. Wednesday-Saturday, it turns into a late-night fair trade, substance free tea house.
Members of the CC community are welcome to inquire with the Chaplain's Office to reserve Sacred Grounds for meetings, classes, movies, events, and other programming by:
- Stopping by the main office in Shove OR
- Contacting Administrative Assistant, Paige Talerico, at ptalerico2024@coloradocollege.edu or (719) 389-6638
It is the responsibility of the groups using the space to leave it in the condition that the group found it, including cleaning the kitchen, food items on the counter, papers, and placing furniture and cushions back in their original locations. The holiday lights and framed posters on the walls are not to be moved. Failure to do so could lead to possible denial of future reservations.
