About ITS

ITS is also known as the Office of Information Technology

ITS is comprised of 3 major groups and many teams within those groupings who work together to provide and support technology infrastructure in support of the strategic plan.

ITS also employs dozens of student workers in various jobs, and engages "ambassadors" from other divisions / departments at the college who help employees in their areas with technical issues and give feedback to ITS.

Operations supports the work of the ITS Division, focusing on administration, project management, and budget management.

Solutions Center

Located on the first floor of Tutt Library near the east entrance, the Solutions Center is the place you will most likely call or visit for help with general technology troubleshooting. Solutions Center staff have a wide range of knowledge and usually the first people you want to speak with when you have a question or problem with technology.

Infrastructure

This team is in charge of the wired and wireless network on campus as well as all the servers that host all kinds of campus services. They work to make sure services are online as close to 100% of the time as possible.

Deployments & Outreach

This team handles technology purchasing and deploying, including the life cycle replacement program. They also reach out to the community and offer training workshops and assistance with experimental technology such as virtual reality.

Classroom Support & Install

This team handles smart classroom equipment installs and lifecycle, as well as support when that projector or speaker in the classroom isn't working. They are also in charge of the AV Checkout Window in Armstrong Basement, which has a wealth of items like video cameras, speakers, microphones, etc. for checkout.

AV Events

This team handles setups and support for the many, many events held on campus.

Esports

This team runs CC's Esports (competitive video gaming) program. They have a "varsity" computer lab space in the basement of Palmer where the teams practice and compete, as well as an "events space" adjacent to the varsity lab where anyone from the community is welcome to come hang out and play games. The Events space features several high-end computers, multiple game consoles, a large couch, and a tabletop gaming table.

Server Applications & Security

Focuses on the "back end" part of ITS. They are responsible for critical systems such as the CC website, and they directly support Canvas, ArcGIS, Security Cameras, Gold Card, and other systems. This group is responsible for information security measures and also works to integrate applications and create / customize systems.

Enterprise Information Solutions

This team is primarily responsible for Banner, our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, on which most of the critically important college functions run (like human resources / payroll, classes and grades, etc.) It is the central repository of information, and many other systems pull data from Banner for different uses across campus.
