Brownsville sustainability initiative
Brownsville Sustainability Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the city of Brownsville, TX, and the members of its surrounding communities with innovative and effective methods to achieve waste reduction goals through the advocacy, creation, and implementation of a comprehensive resource management plan, and the education of leaders and residents on the environmental issues the community faces. Through grassroots movements (e.g., volunteer events),case-based action-oriented research, and a policy brief that details a potential alternative city waste reduction plan, the project hopes to create a more prosperous, environmentally stable, and just future for every member of the Brownsville community.
