Six Alumni Join Teach for America; CC Named a Top Contributor

Colorado College has been named a top contributor to Teach For America, with six recent CC graduates participating in the program.

Charlotte Jacobson '19, Luis Quiles '18, Cristina Garcia '19, Chelsie Dang '19, Jessianne Blake '19, and Patrick Mahoney '19 join the 149 Colorado College alumni who have participated in the nationwide program since 1991.

Jacobson, a sociology major, will serve in Baltimore; Quiles, a history major, in Colorado Springs; Garcia, a religion and Southwest Studies major, in Pueblo, Colorado; Dang, an education major, in San Diego; Blake, a classics major, in Las Vegas, Nevada; and Mahoney, an economics major, in Colorado Springs.

They are among the more than 3,110 individuals representing more than 640 colleges and universities this year who will impact 51 regions across 36 states and the District of Columbia.

Colorado College has been on the top contributor list five times in the last nine years: 2019, 2018, 2013, 2012, and 2010.

Teach For America is a nationwide organization that recruits promising leaders to teach for at least two years in a low-income community.
