Colorado College celebrated 37 graduates at its Winter Commencement on Sunday, Dec. 18, in Shove Memorial Chapel. The ceremony was part of CC’s 149th academic year.

Nadia Guessous, associate professor and associate director of the Feminist and Gender Studies Program, gave the Commencement address, “Meditations on Time, Memory, and Interconnectedness.”

Chaplain Kate Holbrook gave both the invocation and the benediction

The senior class motto is: “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare,” a quote from Audre Lorde, a civil rights and feminist activist.

Students continue to show their dedication and commitment to CC through their senior class gift to the Colorado College Mental Health Promotion Fund, which works to support mental health promotion and suicide prevention efforts on campus.

The class motto and gift will be the same for the seniors graduating in May 2023.
