Kate Holbrook serves as the College Chaplain at CC in an interspiritual and multi-faith capacity. Educated at a Quaker school, Bates College (B.A), Pacific School of Religion (MDiv and MA), and currently pursuing doctoral work at Claremont School of Theology, Kate values holistic education. A practitioner of contemplative and embodied practices, she is passionate about fostering spaces where the head and heart come together in meaningful ways. Integrating contemplative and compassion-based practices into higher education is central to her work. With training as a Zhineng Qigong teacher and in the areas of moral injury, grief support, death doula, pilgrimage, and heart-centered meditation, Kate enjoys exploring ways to honor and live into the fullness of who we are. Curious about cultivating inner and communal expansiveness, restorative practices, consciousness studies, discernment, and interspiritual and intereligious engagement, she is grateful to work in an engaged community. Kate finds it a gift and an honor to accompany the Colorado College community. She delights in being present with students, faculty, and staff as together we cultivate inner wisdom and a sense of belonging.
For renewal, Kate enjoys contemplative and spiritual practices, hiking, vegan cooking, folk dancing, and spending time by wild, rugged coastlines and in vast open deserts – and of course being with her cat.
