RE 200 Living Islam: The Turkish Experience

“Living Islam” is an immersive exploration of Islam, Turkish style, where the classroom is not simply in Turkey, it is Turkey. Students will travel to Istanbul, to select locations in historic Anatolia (including Rumi’s shrine), and to the Turkish Mediterranean where they will discover not only the role of Islam in the history of Asia Minor but also the many ways in which past and present combine to produce a contemporary Islam for roughly 70 million people.  There are no pre-requisites for this course and no language requirement. The Program fee is $3500 (airfare not included). Financial aid is available to eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis.
