About the Chamber Chorus
The Colorado College Chamber Chorus is a 20-30 voice select vocal ensemble open to students and, when space allows, recent alumni. The ensemble performs music from all historical time periods, and covering a wide range of styles, including Renaissance, baroque, classical, contemporary, music of world folk traditions, and more. The chorus performs a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment, depending upon the demands of the repertoire.
The Chamber Chorus presents two concerts each year, one in each semester. Additional performance opportunities will be considered as opportunities arise, and when scheduling allows. Students registering for Chamber Chorus receive 1/4 credit per semester.
Four professionally trained singers from the community are engaged to serve as mentors and section leaders, rehearsing and performing with the Chamber Chorus throughout the year. This allows for more consistent progress in rehearsals and for the study of a broader and more challenging repertoire.
The Chamber Chorus provides students with an opportunity to share the joy of ensemble singing, regardless of their chosen college path, and provides an excellent break from the Block Plan.
