Welcome to the Stroud Scholars Program!
We exist to to harness our institutional capacity to support college access and forge accessible pathways to Colorado College, in collaboration with schools and community organizations in the Pikes Peak Region.

Why should I do this program?
This program will help eliminate obstacles to gain acceptance into Colorado College, an esteemed liberal arts insitution right here in Colorado Springs! We provide you with extra education and resources to be prepared for college, in ways that you might not currently have access to.
Figuring out all the aspects of a journey toward college can be intimidating, but this free program can help you get there! (Plus, sometimes we have free food!!)

The program seeks students who:
- Are intellectually curious and excited about learning.
- Have a strong drive to go to college and achieve their dreams.
- Are dedicated to a three-year commitment and willing to engage actively.
- Would benefit from additional college prep resources and support.
- Bring diverse perspectives and experiences that can enrich college communities.
Eligibility is focused on 9th graders from the Pikes Peak Region who:
- Are from low-income families (annual household income of $60,000 or less, or up to $75,000 for families with four or more dependents).
- Would be the first in their family to attend a four-year college.
- Are from historically excluded communities.
- Attend schools that have limited resources for college readiness support.
The application process includes:
- Online Application: The application introduces you to the selection committee and includes essay questions to understand your interests and goals.
- Interview: Selected applicants will have an interview to share more about themselves. The goal is for both sides to get to know each other better.
- Final Selection: After interviews, a cohort of students is selected, and those chosen will be asked to confirm their commitment to the program.
