In September 2021, committee Chair Dr. Heidi R. Lewis, Director and Associate Director of Feminist & Gender Studies and Inaugural Coordinator of Early Career Faculty Development Programs, accepted the committee Chair role at the request of Dr. Mike Edmonds, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, with approval from President L. Song Richardson.

“I’m honored to be appointed as chair of this important committee and look forward to working collaboratively with a strong, effective, and brilliant team of Colorado College professionals and students, and especially our fellow citizens in the Colorado Springs community. During these challenging times in our nation’s history, it is critical to come together to ensure that a focus on the safety and wellness of our community is not inextricably linked to racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist, xenophobic, and other forms of oppressive police violence. I aim to do that, and I am certain my fellow committee members and our administration aim to do the same.”
