Accreditation is a process in which institutions of higher learning are evaluated to ensure quality of the education they provide. As the accreditation process closely monitors all changes at accredited institutions, annual compliance reports are required of the institution and more comprehensive monitoring is done on longer-range cycles.

In order to maintain accreditation, institutions must submit reports to their accreditors which collect basic institutional data. The IPE office coordinates the data collection for these reports and submits the final report. Another major part of the accreditation cycle is a periodic reaffirmation process. This process involves the institution submitting a quality assurance report to the commission every five years and scheduling a campus visit every 10 years, by a team of representatives from other institutions of higher learning. The IPE office helps to coordinate both the assembly of the quality assurance report and the logistics for the site visit.
