Opportunities for Collaboration

 

Prior to preparing a collaborative proposal of this nature, faculty members should discuss their proposed project with one of the College's grants professionals (Ina Remus, Laura Hines or Tess Powers) in order to coordinate a discussion with the the dean of the faculty and/or the provost.

ACM Grant Funded Programs

The Associated Colleges of the Midwest offers a number of opportunities for faculty at ACM institutions:

"ACM offers significant opportunities for faculty collaboration and development across the spectrum of teaching, research, and service thanks to generous funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Teagle Foundation, and other partners.

The current portfolio of grant-funded activities supports projects designed and initiated by faculty and staff at ACM colleges, seminars focused on interdisciplinary learning and curricular development, annual institutes and an online course on the economics of higher education, collaborations to explore technology-enabled education, and efforts to foster diversity in the professoriate."

Grant awards will range from $5,000 to $30,000.

Deadlines vary based on the program.


 

Teagle Foundation's Education for American Civic Life

Supports faculty-led efforts to prepare graduates to become informed and engaged participants in the civic life of their local, national and global communities.

Grant awards will range from $100,000 to $400,000 over 2 to 3 years. Planning grants of ~$25,000 for 6 to 12 months.

Concept papers (3 to 5 pages) considered on a rolling basis.

 

Teagle Foundation's Pathways to the Liberal Arts

Supports faculty-led efforts to improve access to and success in liberal arts education, particularly for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who might not ordinarily attempt a rigorous liberal arts program.

Grant awards will range from $100,000 to $400,000 over 2 to 3 years.

Concept papers (3 to 5 pages) considered on a rolling basis.


 

NEH Humanities Connections

Supports "innovative curricular approaches to support productive partnerships among humanities faculty and their counterparts in the social and natural sciences and in pre-service or professional programs such as business, engineering, health sciences, law, computer science and other technology-driven fields"

Planning grants up to $35K

Deadline: Proposals due in mid-September. Notification the following spring.
