Breaking Bread

We encourage faculty and staff to participate in the Breaking Bread Program to create a greater sense of community for our students. Below are the guidelines for the Breaking Bread Program.

  1. The college provides funding for any staff or faculty member who invites students to share a meal. At least two students should be in attendance. Please note that this fund is not intended to support restaurant meals or field trips, but rather to encourage informal meals outside of the classroom, on or off campus, to expand the opportunity for special contact between students and CC faculty and staff. Informal course work is allowed, but not required. Requests for meals eaten at restaurants or catered by outside vendors will not be granted, nor will catered meals from Bon Appetit.
  2. Meals will be covered up to $10 per person (including yourself and immediate family) for the cost of groceries or take-out.
  3. Breaking Bread can fund meals using (1) P-card or (2) reimbursement. If you do not have your own P-card, you may ask your department administrative assistant (with generous lead time) for assistance in ordering food, but they are not expected to go grocery shopping with you.
  4. Alcohol is not allowed to be served at Breaking Bread.
  5. Prior approval is required for Breaking Bread meals. If you do not receive prior approval, you will not be reimbursed for your expenses. Please fill in the form below; you will receive a confirmation email once your request is approved.
  6. Upload your receipts here.
