Breaking Bread with Alumni

For many alumni, their CC experience is defined by relationships with faculty. To foster this relationship, the Alumni Office has set aside funds to encourage faculty to continue the good work you are already doing to meaningfully engage with alumni.

Examples of opportunities to Break Bread with Alumni include:

  • You are attending a professional conference and want to meet with alums who are also attending the conference.
  • You are traveling to another city with a class and would like to invite alumni to network with the students.
  • You are traveling for research and would like to meet local alumni.
  • An alum visits a class on campus and you invite them to lunch.
  • The types of opportunities are limited only by your own creativity. This is intended to be a low lift for both faculty and the Alumni Office.

Program Guidelines:

  1. Events: Plan what you think will be most effective and best fits your needs. Simple is often the best.
  2. Communication: You or your department will directly invite the targeted alumni.
  3. Data: If you need a list of alumni for your event, please give the Alumni Office at least two weeks notice to obtain a list.
  4. Timing: Please tell us the details of your intended event one week prior. In exceptional circumstances, the Alumni Office will consider funding the event retroactively.
  5. Funding: Actual funding will depend on how many alumni are anticipated. The Alumni Office will reimburse up to $35 per person for meals and/or drinks (including alcoholic beverages) for you, the alum and the alum’s guest. The maximum reimbursement for any event is $500.
  6. Post-event: Provide the Alumni Office with a list of those alumni who attended the event. When possible, please send a photo to share in the Peak or other communications.

Please reach out to Jacob Sanchez, Associate Director of Alumni Engagement at jsanchez@coloradocollege.edu or email alumni@coloradocollege.edu with any questions.
