Counseling Center Fees and Insurance Billing
The first six counseling appointments are free.
No student is denied counseling services because of financial hardship, and arrangements can be made with the counselor and the Dean’s office to provide financial support for services from The Counseling Center. Billing for services are charged to the student's account at the college.
Sessions after the first six are charged $40 per session.
This fee can be charged directly to your student account. Other arrangements can be made to maintain student confidentiality. Fees may be waived after the first six under certain circumstances. Please talk to your counselor about this.
Psychiatrist Appointments and Medications
The fees for the psychiatrist are $175 for the initial evaluation and $75 for follow up appointments. These charges are billed the same way as counseling sessions. Scholarship funds are available to cover the cost of psychiatrist visits. Please talk to your counselor about this. No student is refused visits because of financial hardship.
Private Medical Insurance
Students will receive a receipt (walk-out statement) in their campus mailbox from the Counseling Center which they can use for reimbursement from their insurance company or flexible spending account.
Student Health Insurance
Students who carry the Colorado College Student Health Insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield are covered at 100% for all counseling and psychiatrist services to a cap of $2500 per year for sessions at the Counseling Center. There is no direct charge to the student.
