Virtual Opportunities
This spring, we hosted virtual Q&A sessions with staff from a variety of offices around campus. These virtual sessions were open to admitted students and their families. We've compiled links to the webinar recordings here, so you can watch them when it's most convenient for you!
Recording: Parent and Family Panel
Hosted in late February by Alex Dominguez, Saúl Maravilla, and a panel that featured alumni, parents of current and former students, and CC staff members, this webinar offered parents and others supporting prospective students an opportunity to hear about panelists' experiences with CC. It also highlighted ways in which CC, as an institution, helps students thrive.
Hosted on April 1 by the director of CC's Career Center, Megan Nicklaus, this presentation offered an overview of the supports available through CC's Career Center, and answered questions about internships, development of career interests, and connecting with the Tiger alumni network.
Recording: International Student Panel
Hosted on April 2 by Courtney Salazar and a panel of current international students at CC, this webinar was for admitted international students. Our student panel addressed questions regarding CC's student life, academic life, and location.
Recording: International Student Resources
Hosted on April 4 by Courtney Salazar and a panel of CC staff who support international students, this webinar addressed questions regarding financial aid, advising and career planning, building connections and community, academic supports, and more.
Recording: Academic Advising and Support
Hosted on April 8 by Student Success Specialist and Pre-Law Advisor, Gretchen Wardell, and the director of CC's Writing Center, Chris Schact. Gretchen offered insight into how academic advising works at CC, when and how you choose classes, how many of your classes will be focused on your major versus exploring other interests and meeting general education requirements, and how advisors support students in choosing a major. Chris gave an overview of the academic supports available at CC and how students can get the most out of the robust support we offer.
Hosted in mid-April by CC's director of admission, Matt Bonser. Matt discussed why so many CC students choose to take a gap year or gap semester, what makes for a great gap experience, why we encourage students to consider a deferred start, and how to request a deferred start at CC.
Hosted in mid-April by CC's senior assistant director of admission, Dylan Sanchez, senior assistant director of athletics, Greg Capell, and assistant director of the fitness center, Andy Obringer, panelists discussed engaging with CC's athletics programs (varsity, club, and intramural) as well as opportunities available at CC's fitness center.
Small Group Chats are virtual conversations led by current CC student ambassadors. These sessions are a valuable way to learn more about CC and student life in a relaxed, casual setting.
For a more broad introduction to CC, participate in one of our virtual information sessions led by an admission counselor.
