Outside the Classroom

An afternoon, a week, a block, a semester, or a year under new skies: Welcome to a truly free-spirited education.

Academic Flexibility

Care to pack into the Rocky Mountains ... for your class? The Block Plan is your golden ticket. Study geology amid immense red rock formations in Garden of the Gods Park. Read Dante's Divine Comedy in Italy. Whether you study abroad or throughout the American Southwest, when you only have one class, obligations are focused and opportunities abound.

Get Off-Campus

The Block Plan allows CC students and professors to experience course material in hands-on, off-campus environments. If you're going to read about great plains, open skies, and cliff dwellings in "Literature of the Southwest," we figure you might as well get out there and see it. Pack up your hiking boots and Short Stories of Fray Angelico Chavez - you're leaving the classroom behind.

As well as inspiring frequent field trips, this experience-driven logic has led to the westward expansion of Colorado College to include our Baca campus and the CC Cabin.

Rambling under Southwestern skies - or around the world - is no longer just for cowboys.
