Meet the Team

Amber Martinez

Associate Director, Parent & Family Engagement

Headshot of Amber MartinezHi there! I’m Amber. I hold a Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor’s in Education from Wright State University. Originally from the great state of Ohio, I’ve proudly called Colorado home for the past nine years.

I’m passionate about creating meaningful experiences for students and their families and find joy in both the big milestones and everyday moments that define the college journey—from move-in day to commencement.

Working with families is truly one of the most rewarding parts of my role. I love the energy and enthusiasm they bring to campus and deeply value the role they play in their student’s success.

Outside of work, I stay active in the field through AHEPPP: The Association for Higher Education Parent & Family Program Professionals, where I serve as a mentor and a member of the national conference planning committee.

When I’m off campus, you’ll usually find me cheering on my favorite college football teams, exploring new places, or spending time with my husband, daughter, and our dog, Cochise.

  • Favorite Restaurant: Paravicini’s in Old Colorado City—just make sure you have a reservation. The arancini and tiramisu are absolute menu musts.
  • Favorite CC Tradition: Orientation and Move-In Day! The mix of nerves and excitement is so contagious, and the campus energy is absolutely electric.
  • Favorite Coffee Spot: BLKMGK at The Mining Exchange Hotel—their fall s’mores latte is heaven on earth.

Emma Ulbrich

Assistant Director, Parent & Family Engagement

Headshot of Emma Ulbrich Hello! I’m Emma – I graduated from Colorado College in 2022 with a degree in Anthropology and am a proud Bridge Scholar! I was born in Chicago but have lived in Colorado since I was 10 years old. My passion is creating space for community, inclusion, and connecting with people on an individual basis. I’m so excited to create programs for parents and families that are fun, accessible, and informative.
Outside of work, you’ll find me diving into quirky literary fiction, flowing through hot yoga classes, making collages, or watching reality TV with friends (the more dramatic, the better!).
  • Favorite Restaurant: Atomic Cowboy—best happy hour in town!
  • Favorite CC Tradition: Dance Workshop. I had never danced a day in my life, but DW was such a fun and empowering experience. The semesters I didn’t perform, I was always in the audience cheering on my friends—the theater is always packed!
  • Go-To Coffee Spot: Story Coffee. I don’t care if it’s -10 degrees—I’m still ordering an iced honey vanilla latte every time.
