Trip Itineraries

All NSO and WSO trip itineraries vary depending on site location, site host needs, and many other logistics but the itineraries below will provide a general idea of what the Orientation Week will look like and what incoming students can expect!

Fall New Student Orientation General Itinerary:

Day 1 Saturday: MOVE IN and Priddy Pre Trip Meeting

All incoming students will move into their residence halls with help from NSO Leaders. After an official welcome from the President and Student Life students will find their assigned Priddy Trip Group and meet their fellow trippees and student leaders for the first time!

Day 2 Sunday: On campus Orientation Activities and Fun!  

Many Priddy Trips will meet up for dinner or in the evening to further prepare for the Priddy Trip

Day 3 Monday: On Campus Orientation

Day 5 Wednesday: Departure Day!

  • Meet your group for Breakfast in Rastall Dining Hall
  • Grab all of your equipment and meet in a designated location and head out for you Priddy Trip! Groups will be transported in 12 passenger vans, mini vans, SUV’s, or chartered buses to their site.
  • Once you arrive at your site, your leaders will help get your group set up and situated in your housing situation (housing varies from staying in doors to backcountry camping). If you are on a side country or backcountry trip you may hike into your campsite.
  • At camp, you’ll talk about the next couple of days and your leaders will begin to facilitate activities and discussion meant to help better prepare you for life at CC!

Day 6 Thursday: Service Day!

  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to meet your host site
  • Expect to work with your host site from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 7 Friday: Service Day!

  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to meet your host site
  • Expect to work with your host site from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 8 Saturday: Cultural Day!

  • The cultural day experience is an opportunity for your group to participate in an intentional group experience that enhances the overall trip and emerses into the cultural aspects of the trip, community, or location.
  • This can vary widely depending on the group, leaders, and the location where you are at. Some examples of cultural day activities include, visiting a Native American historical site, hiking at Great Sand Dunes National Park, attempt at summiting a peak, going to a local farmer’s market.

Day 9 Sunday: Return to CC

  • The trip will clean up camp and begin to head back to campus where they will check in all equipment, debrief the whole experience and provide feedback for future years!
  • Most trips are back on campu no later than 1:00pm so trippees have plenty of time to get ready for their first day of class the next day.

Winter Start Orientation General Itinerary:

Day 3 Monday: Departure Day!

  • Meet your all Winter Starts for a final group meeting around 10:00am and head to lunch afterward
  • Grab all of your equipment and meet in a designated location and head out for you Priddy Trip! Groups will be transported in 12 passenger vans.
  • All groups will arrive at Baca Campus located in Crestone, CO and will settle into their lodges.
  • At Baca, you’ll talk about the next couple of days and your leaders will begin to facilitate activities and discussion meant to help better prepare you for life at CC!

Day 4 Tuesday: Service Day!

  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to meet your host site
  • Expect to work with your host site from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 5 Wednesday: Service Day!

  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to meet your host site
  • Expect to work with your host site from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 6 Thursday: Cultural Day!

  • The cultural day experience is an opportunity for your group to participate in an intentional group experience that enhances the overall trip and emerses into the cultural aspects of the trip, community, or location.
  • This can vary widely depending on the group, leaders, and the location where you are at. Some examples of cultural day activities include, visiting a UFO Museum, hiking at Great Sand Dunes National Park, and going to some local hot springs!

Day 7 Friday: Return to CC

  • The trip will clean up camp and begin to head back to campus where they will check in all equipment, debrief the whole experience and provide feedback for future years!
  • Most trips are back on campu no later than 1:00pm.
