Trip Itineraries

All NSO and WSO trip itineraries vary depending on site location, site host needs, and many other logistics but the itineraries below will provide a general idea of what the Orientation Week will look like and what incoming students can expect!

Itineraries

Day 1 Saturday: Move-in! 

All incoming students will move into their residence halls with help from NSO Move in Helpers. 

Day 2 Sunday: On campus Orientation Activities and Fun!  

Many Priddy Trips will meet up for dinner or in the evening to meet and further prepare for the off-campus Priddy Trip

Day 3 Monday: On Campus Orientation

Day 4 Tuesday: On Campus Orientation

Day 5 Wednesday: On Campus Orientation and Local Afternoon

See NSO Schedule for more details, expect to spend an afternoon in Colorado Springs learning more about where you will be living for the next four years!

Day 6 Thursday: Leave for Priddy Trip and Service Day/Cultural Day

  • Grab all of your equipment and meet in a designated location and head out for you Priddy Trip! Groups will be transported in 12 passenger vans, mini vans, SUVs, or chartered buses to their site.
  • Once you arrive at your site, your leaders will help get your group set up and situated in your housing situation (housing varies from staying indoors to camping). 
  • Expect to work with your service site/participate in cultural day activities from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • At camp, you’ll talk about the next couple of days and your leaders will begin to facilitate activities and discussion meant to help better prepare you for life at CC!

Day 7 Friday: Service Day/Cultural Day

  • The cultural day experience is an opportunity for your group to participate in an intentional group experience that enhances the overall trip and emerses into the cultural aspects of the trip, community, or location. This can vary widely depending on the group, leaders, and the location where you are at. Some examples of cultural day activities include, visiting a Native American historical site, hiking at Great Sand Dunes National Park, attempt at summiting a peak, going to a local farmer’s market.
  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to meet your service site/participate in cultural day activities
  • Expect to work with your service site/participate in cultural day activities from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 8 Saturday: Return to Campus

  • The trip will return back to campus and clean up and return all of their group and personal gear, debrief the whole experience and provide feedback for future years! Most trips are back on campus no later than 6:00pm and are welcomed back to campus! Trippees will have Sunday to relax, rest, and prepare for class on Monday.

 Day 4 Departure Day!

  • Meet your all Winter Starts for a final group meeting before lunch
  • Grab all of your equipment and meet in a designated location and head out for you Priddy Trip! Groups will be transported in 12 passenger vans.
  • All groups will travel to their trip location and will settle into their lodge/sleeping accommodation.
  • You will talk about the next couple of days and your leaders will begin to facilitate activities and discussion meant to help better prepare you for life at CC!

Day 5 Service Day!

  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to meet your host site
  • Expect to work with your host site from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary depending on site needs)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 6 Cultural Day!

  • The cultural day experience is an opportunity for your group to participate in an intentional group experience that enhances the overall trip and emerses into the cultural aspects of the trip, community, or location. This can vary widely depending on the group, leaders, and the location where you are at. Some examples of cultural day activities include, visiting a UFO Museum, hiking at Great Sand Dunes National Park, and going to some local hot springs!
  • Wake up and have breakfast before heading out to participate in cultural day activities
  • Expect to be out having fun from 8:00am-4:00pm (times may vary)
  • Once back at camp, there will be time for relaxation and more activities and discussions

Day 7 Return to Campus

  • The trip will clean up camp and begin to head back to campus where they will check in all equipment, debrief the whole experience and provide feedback for future years!
  • Most trips are back on campus no later than 1:00pm.

The Ahlberg Gear House and Ritt Kellogg Climbing Gym will be open during the summer on a limited schedule. The Bike and Ski Co-op will be available by appointment only.  Please visit each facility page for more information regarding hours and precautionary measures.
