International Student Advisory Board (ISAB)

The International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) serves as a bridge between the international student community and the Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS).  The ISAB includes representatives of CC's international community who act in an advisory role for ISSS and other departments at CC.  The ISAB works towards improving the experience for all international students at CC. 

CC's international student community is invited to submit concerns, questions or suggestions to the ISAB.  

The members of the ISAB are available to support CC's international students and look forward to hearing from you!

About the ISAB

  • Be a voice for the international community by sharing insight and stories about the international students’ experiences at CC. 
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to ISSS regarding processes, services and programs for international students. 
  • Advocate for international students’ needs and concerns in order to help improve the quality of life of international students at CC. 
  • Explore ways CC can be more equitable and inclusive, particularly as related to racism, xenophobia, tokenism and other issues that impact the international students at CC. 
  • Meet with the International Student Support Network (ISSN) to share feedback with departmental offices at CC. 
  • Promote international student engagement within the international student community and with the broader CC community.
  • Commit to active participation in the ISAB for the academic year. (Students will be eligible to apply to renew their membership in future years). 
  • Attend an ISAB meeting once a block. 
  • Encourage international students to share feedback with ISAB regarding the experiences at CC 
  • Have direct and timely communication with ISSS advisor to the ISAB. 
  • Provide suggestions to ISSS on ways both ISSS and CC can improve the support for international students. 
  • Communicate to the international student community the updates from ISSS regarding resources, programs and initiatives for international students. 
  • Represent the ISAB by attending at least one meeting with the International Student Support Network (ISSN). 
The International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) is not employment and ISAB members are not paid.

Hi everyone! My name is Oli and I am from Skopje, N. Macedonia. I graduated from UWC Pearson College in British Columbia in 2021, where I got to meet people from 80+ countries from all over the world, and where I learned the importance of living in a culturally diverse environment. Coming to CC, and becoming part of the international community here, led me to the goal of ensuring that our community is a safe space that fosters learning and growth for all international students. I think it's beyond important for every single member of our community to feel comfortable bringing up their concerns and speaking up when they feel the need. Hi! My name is Polly, and I am a freshman majoring in English and minoring in Journalism at Colorado College. I am an international student from Ukraine, but I have spent two years at a boarding school in Maine before I came here. I have found CC to be a great place with a variety of opportunities and social connections. It is exciting to be a part of this community, and I would like to help others feel the same way.
