At CC, Susie was a Kappa Kappa Gamma and worked in the Catalyst circulation department. She served as president of Junior League of Colorado Springs, 1991-1992; president of Girl Scouts Wagon Wheel Council, 1994-1995; member of the Board of Directors, SerDrilco, Inc., Tulsa, Okla., 1995-2003; member of the Board of Directors, SWS, L.L.C., Tulsa, Okla., 2003-2010; and member of the Board of Trustees, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, 2005-2011. Susie was inducted into Colorado College's William Jackson Palmer Founders Society in May 2011. She served as trustee for the Sherman E. Smith Family Foundation and serves for the SSB Charitable Foundation. She served on the Board of Directors of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo from 2010-2015.
