NO DECLARATIONS BEFORE FEB 9 – CONTACT the Chair Kat Miller-Stevens if you absolutely must declare before February 9th.

STARTING FEB 9^th:  To declare your major, show up to office hours during one of the times below:

- With Sophie Braker, Academic Administrator:  Every Monday from 1-3pm (STARTING FEB 9^th)

- With Kat Miller-Stevens, Department Chair:  Every Wednesday from 2:30-4pm (STARTING FEB 9^th)

You are welcome to ask a faculty member before declaring your major if they are willing to be your advisor, or you can just show up and get your advisor assigned by Sophie or Kat at the meeting. Please get acquainted with the requirements for the major you are declaring and fill out the Major Declaration form, but do not submit the form. During the meeting, someone will go over the form with you.  

If a professor says yes to being your advisor, please keep in mind that it is contingent on them not being over our department’s limit for advisees per professor, which will be confirmed at your meeting.

If you are declaring a major in International Political Science or Mathematical Economics and would like to have an advisor from Political Science or Math and Computer Science, please reach out to those departments instead.
