Core Faculty Research Reimbursement Form

Asian Studies core faculty members (defined as faculty who teach courses listed or cross-listed with Asian Studies and who agree to attend at least five Asian Studies program meetings throughout the course of the year) are entitled to request reimbursement for up to $600 worth of books and other research expenses from the Asian Studies program. Members of the steering committee are eligible for up to $2,000 in reimbursement.

Qualifying expenses must follow CC's regular expense guidelines and be related to projects that align with Gaylord requirements (i.e. in or about countries/regions that touch on the Pacific Ocean, as well as countries within South Asia). These expenses may include:

  • Books
  • CDs or other research-related physical media
  • Research-related travel expenses
  • Materials related to class development (including teaching languages)
  • Conference fees and travel
  • Membership fees for scholarly associations (note that if you are seeking reimbursement for membership fees, especially for an organization that is not explicitly related to Asian Studies, you must be planning to engage with them substantively in a way that aligns with Gaylord requirements)
Note that all purchases should first be reconciled to your research account. After your request has been reviewed and approved, the requested funds will then be transferred into your research account. All requests must be submitted by June 15th to be included in the current academic year.

 
Do not use this form to request sponsorship from Asian Studies for events, to apply for the Gaylord Research Grant, or to request any other support other than research reimbursement. All funding proposals should be submitted to the Asian Studies director for consideration at our blockly program meetings.
