Writing Courses
There are two primary types of writing courses offered at Colorado College:
Additionally, there are a number of variable format courses that will help students improve specific aspects of their writing and become more confident writers:
- GS208: Advanced Language Practice for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students (1 unit)
- GS257: Topics in Reading and Rhetoric in the Liberal Arts (.5 units)
- GS260: Writing Enhancement (.5 units)
- GS399: Topics in Advanced Writing Projects (.25 or .5 units)
The most up-to-date list of available writing courses is found on the CC Banner system. To find a WI or WD course with an open seat, do the following:
- Log into the CC Banner system (located here)
- Please note that if you are logging into Banner from off campus, you will first need to follow the "Connecting from Off Campus" instructions found here.
- If you have trouble connecting or can't find your Banner ID/Password? Call CC ITS at 719-389-6449 (8-5pm MST)
- Click the "Student" tab
- Click the "Class Schedule" link
- Select the term you would like to search and click "Submit" at the bottom of the page
- Scroll down to "Degree requirement" and choose either "Writing Intensive" or "Writing in the Discipline".
- Click "Class search" at the bottom of the page and a list of scheduled courses will appear.
